The Annual Lenten Retreat of Koncab was Conducted by Rev Fr Sunil D’Souza at Konkan Samudai Bhavan on Sunday, 13th March from 9am to 5pm.
Fr Sunil along with EC members of Koncab led by Koncab President Vincent D’Souza and KWT Chairman Sylvester D’Souza, blessed the Konkan Samudai Bhavan building in the morning, before the start of the Retreat.
The Retreat started at 9.15a.m with Praise and Worship followed by the first session by Fr Sunil on the importance of Prayer and following the word of God .
After a tea break at 10.30 there was another session by Fr Sunil on Forgiveness and Love.
The congregation broke for lunch after the Konkani Way of the Cross conducted by Jhonas D’Souza.
Post lunch there was a session for Action Songs and a talk on renewal of Marriage vows and importance of family life and the importance of staying together close knit as a family, obedience to elders and improving personal relationships.
Post this session, Holy Mass in Konkani was celebrated by Fr Sunil and followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
After the mass and adoration, Fr Sunil and Alex Crasta who brought the retreat alive with meaningful hymns and music were felicitated by Koncab President Vincent D’Souza.
A special thanks to Shreyas D’Souza for the audio controls and Visual display of the hymns and prayers during the session on the projector.
The session ended at 5 pm after the Vote of Thanks proposed by Koncab Secretary Navya Monteiro.
The faithful had an opportunity make their confession and receive divine absolution through the sacrament of penance. Fr.Merwyn helped the faithful to receive this grace by hearing their confessions.
Overall it was a well attended retreat and the members and guests felt blessed and happy to go back home with a great session of reconciliation with God during this Season of Lent.
Tea, Lunch and snacks were arranged by Koncab for all who attended the retreat.
